2024 Call for Members At-Large Nominations
Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) members passed a Bylaws Referendum in 2023 establishing five at-large positions on the SVS Executive Board (EB). This change aims to bring a broader range of perspectives, member experiences and skillsets to the SVS governance structure.
- ARTICLE V. Executive Board | Section 3, Composition now reads:
- The Executive Board shall be composed of eleven (11) voting members as follows: the President, Immediate Past-President, President-Elect, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and five (5) At-Large members selected and appointed by the Executive Board, in consultation with the Strategic Board, and in accordance with the strategic priorities and governance needs identified by the Executive Board (collectively referred to herein as the “Directors”, and each individually as a “Director”). The Executive Director of the Society shall be an ex-officio non-voting member of the Executive Board. Eligibility for At-Large members requires 5 years of membership in good standing in the Society
Nomination Period: Aug. 5 to Sept. 30
Eligibility Requirements for At-Large Members:
- SVS member in good standing for 5+ years.
- Demonstrated service and contributions to SVS, SVS Foundation, and/or SVS PSO committees, subcommittees, section committees, task forces, work groups and/or editorial groups.
- Understanding of the role of organizational governance and leadership and commitment to complete the full term.
Based on an assessment of existing expertise and perspectives amongst EB and Strategic Board members, the SVS EB and Nominating Committee have outlined the following areas where additional experience or perspective would be helpful: Community/private practice, basic science, health informatics/IT, advocacy and health policy and early/mid-career.
Submit nominations for yourself or an eligible member by the Sept. 30 deadline.
All eligible nominees will receive a formal application to complete for submission to the Nominating Committee.
