Excellence in Community Practice Award

Submission Deadline: December 15
The SVS Excellence in Community Practice Award (formally the Excellence in Community Service Award) is an honor bestowed on a member who has exhibited outstanding leadership within his or her community as a practicing vascular surgeon.

SVS General Surgery Resident/Medical Student Vascular Annual Meeting Travel Scholarship

Submission Deadline: January 6 at 4pm EST
This scholarship is designed to support medical students and general surgery residents with an interest in vascular surgery by facilitating their attendance at the SVS Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM). The program offers a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge advancements in vascular disease treatment and research while fostering professional growth.

International Scholars Program

Submission Deadline: January 15
This program provides scholarships to qualified young vascular surgeons from countries outside North America. The four scholarships, the amount of (US) $5,000 each, provide the scholars with an opportunity to participate in the Vascular Annual Meeting® and to visit clinical, teaching and research facilities in the United States and Canada. 

Lifetime Achievement Award

Submission Deadline: March 1
The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor SVS bestows on one of its members. Selection for this honor recognizes an individual’s outstanding and sustained contributions to the profession, SVS, and their exemplary professional practice and leadership.

Medal for Innovation in Vascular Surgery

Submission Deadline: March 1
The SVS Medal for Innovation in Vascular Surgery honors individuals whose contributions have had a transforming impact on the practice or science of vascular surgery.

SVS/ACS Health Policy Scholarship

The submission period is now closed.
The American College of Surgeons and SVS offer an annual scholarship to subsidize attendance and participation in the Executive Leadership Program in Health Policy and Management at Brandeis University, Waltham, Mass. The 2023 course will be June 4-10 and will be in-person. The $8,000 award is to be used for tuition, travel, housing and food during the course. Contact Tony Ortiz with questions.

SAVC Presentation Award

The submission period is now closed.
The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Section on Ambulatory Vascular Care (SAVC)Presentation Award recognizes vascular surgeons who have completed clinical research projects in an OBL or ASC practice. Three recipients will be selected to present their research and receive an award. This award is separate from the SOOVC Research Seed Grant. 

SAVC Research Seed Grant

The submission period is now closed.
The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Section on Ambulatory Vascular Care (SAVC) Research Seed Grant aims to provide vascular surgeons with funds for a data analyst to analyze research data for actionable insights, quality improvement, and patient care. This grant supports research in the OBL or ASC practice. Three recipients will be selected, to each receive one $10,000.00 grant. This grant is renewable for a second year, based upon first-year outcomes.  A progress report will be required and the OBL Research Work Group will review the project results. The grant will be distributed over the course of four quarters and grantees will be required to present updates about their research once per quarter, to the OBL Research Work Group.
