Wound Care Curriculum
Wound Care Curriculum Overview
Developed in partnership by the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS), including the PA Section, the Society for Vascular Nursing (SVN) and the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), this interprofessional Wound Care Curriculum is designed to meet the unique needs of vascular care teams.
The Wound Care Curriculum offers a flexible, blended learning experience. Participants can access an engaging, online module with videos anytime, anywhere and enhance their skills at the hands-on, post-Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM) workshop.
Highlights
- 27 short on-demand videos
- Hands-on workshops: held in conjunction with VAM 2026, 2027 and 2028.
- CME, CEUs, and CE credits in podiatric medicine
- Pre-and post-tests for knowledge assessment and additional online resources
Participants can either register for the online module individually or as part of a workshop package. Workshops must be registered and paid for annually.

Upcoming Complex Wound Care Masterclass Workshops
In-person, hands-on workshops will be held in conjunction with VAM 2026-2028. Each workshop will have updated content and must be registered and paid for annually.
Format
- A short didactic portion followed by complex cases and a panel discussion with an interprofessional team of Vascular Surgeons, Vascular PAs, Vascular Nurses and a Podiatrist (CME portion).
- The attendees will then have the opportunity for hands-on learning supported both by the expert faculty and industry representatives.
- Attendees will also participate in an Industry Showcase and exhibit.

- 2026 Confirmed: Methods of Debridement & Dressing Management and Oxygen Therapy
- 2027 Proposed (agenda to be confirmed in the Summer of 2026): Skin substitutes, Fluorescence imaging, and Infra-red imaging
- 2028 Proposed (agenda to be confirmed in the Summer of 2027): Total contact casting /Removable devices
Important Information About CME Credits
If your certifying board is the American Board of Surgery (ABS), your credit will automatically be transferred to the ABS for this activity within 24 hours of you completing the online module and claiming credit.
Before claiming credit, you must make sure your SVS account First Name, Last Name, Birthdate (month/day), and ABS Board ID number match your ABS account exactly, or your credit will not transfer. Click here for information on how to update your SVS account to match your ABS account, and the SVS’s credit transfer process.
If you are accredited by a board other than the ABS, the SVS will not transfer credit on your behalf. Please download a certificate that will list your credit hours and follow up with your accrediting board.
