In 2017, SVS implemented membership sections to provide a forum for the discussion of education, research and practice issues within special interest areas of vascular care. SVS sections provide community, support and specialized education for their members.
Join an SVS Section
The Society for Vascular Surgery represents a diverse group of vascular care professionals from around the world. To help develop specialized programming and increase leadership opportunities within the organization, SVS has created special-interest sections. Members are encouraged to join and participate in all sections of interest.
SVS Physician Assistants (PA) Section
With more than 200 members, and growing, the SVS member section for vascular physician assistants provides a "professional home" to PAs working in vascular care settings.
SVS Community Practice Section (SVSCPS)
The Section’s mission is to establish an engaging and interactive forum for SVS members practicing primarily in a community setting.
Sub-Section on Outpatient & Office Vascular Care (SOOVC)
SVS members who work in outpatient and office vascular care centers are invited to join the section's work to advance the care of vascular patients in outpatient settings.
The Young Surgeons Section was approved in 2021. They will develop programming and networking events focused around the needs and interests of surgeons who have completed their training within the last 10 years.
The Young Surgeons Section is currently welcoming new charter members for the section launch in April 2022. If you are interested in joining or would like more information on the section, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org.
In 2021, a group of dedicated female vascular surgeons discussed the creation of a new SVS section focused on the unique needs of women in the field. They are currently developing a formal proposal to launch this section.
