About

In 2017, the SVS created a new membership section for vascular physician assistants. The section provides a "professional home" to PAs working in vascular care settings and has grown to 138 members in one short year of existence. The inaugural PA steering committee, led by Erin Hanlon and Ricardo Morales, is pictured to the right at the 2018 Vascular Annual Meeting.

PA VAM Programming

PA-specific education will be held 1:15 - 5:15 p.m. Thursday, June 13, at the 2019 Vascular Annual Meeting. There will be a PA networking lunch beforehand at 12 p.m., and a networking meet-up at the Opening Reception at 5:30 p.m.

The entire Vascular Annual Meeting has been reviewed by the AAPA Review Panel and is compliant with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 30.00 AAPA Category 1 CME credits. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.

Program topics include roles of PAs in different team settings, vascular diagnostics, venous disease and wound management, and dialysis access. Additionally, for the final 90 minutes, three "Ask the Experts" sessions will cover infected groins, peripheral arterial disease and aortic disease. Eligibility

SVS Affiliate membership is available to physician assistants who have demonstrated an active interest in the field of vascular disease.

How to Apply

Memebrship applications are reviewed on a quarterly basis. Deadlines are March 1, June 1, September 1 and December 1.

You will need to include: a completed application form, including the names and contact information of two physicians who sponsor your application, one of which must be a member of the SVS in good standing, and a curriculum vitae.
