About Our Reporting Standards

Reporting standards are intended to provide uniformity of definitions and classifications for comparative purposes. They are instructive on how to report information from clinical studies in a consistent manner to make it easy for the reader to compare results. The literature is reviewed for evidence supported items before developing definitions, classifications, and scorings. In the absence of such evidence, a writing group comprised of experts on the topic may develop through consensus definitions, classifications, and scorings.

SVS members are invited to propose reporting standard topics, using this request form.
