Perioperative Care in Open Aortic Vascular Surgery: Recommendations from ERAS and SVS

-
Virtual Meeting Type: Webinar
Timezone: America/Chicago

Registration

Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) is a comprehensive perioperative care pathway that utilizes evidence‐based best practices across specialties to promote early recovery for patients undergoing major surgery.

Implementing ERAS protocols has been shown to reduce recovery time, complications and readmissions, while improving patient and staff satisfaction.

This webinar will review the recommendations for perioperative care in open aortic vascular surgery based on the consensus statement developed by the Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) Society and the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) in 2022. In addition, practical examples of how ERAS protocols have been implemented in clinical practice will be discussed.

Learning Objectives

  • Introduce general ERAS concepts
  • Provide details of the published vascular ERAS pathways
  • Share real life examples and experiences from those who have built ERAS programs
