The Society for Vascular Surgery offers several different types of clinical practice documents and tools to assist our members and the healthcare industry.

Research progress in vascular biology is critical, as vascular disease continues to affect much of the world’s population and continues to be the leading cause of morbidity and mortality.

The Society for Vascular Surgery Interactive Practice Guidelines App (SVS iPG) offers clinicians, trainees, and third-party payers:

About Our Reporting Standards

Reporting standards are intended to provide uniformity of definitions and classifications for comparative purposes. They are instructive on how to report information from clinical studies in a consistent manner to make it easy for the reader to compare results. The literature is reviewed for evidence supported items before developing definitions, classifications, and scorings. In the absence of such evidence, a writing group comprised of experts on the topic may develop through consensus definitions, classifications, and scorings.

Research & Quality

Our members are leaders in vascular research. We encourage the interest and development of investigators by providing a forum for collaboration and dissemination of advancements in clinical, outcomes, comparative effectiveness, translational, and basic science research.

Improving Vascular Care Through the VQI

The Vascular Quality Initiative® improves the quality, safety, effectiveness and cost of vascular health care by collecting, analyzing and sharing data on pre-operative risk factors, intra-procedural variables, post-procedural outcomes, and one-year follow-up data.
