Special Lectures and Events at the 2016 VAM

While the 2016 Vascular Annual Meeting includes postgraduate courses, hands-on workshops and other courses, it also features special lectures and forums that add to attendees' overall understanding of the treatment of vascular diseases. Special VAM events include:

Thursday, June 9

William J. von Liebig Forum, on peripheral arterial disease, 8:30 to 10 a.m. Drs. Rabih A. Chaer and Bruce A. Perler will moderate. 

John Homans Lecture, "A Look at the Future of Vascular Surgery," by Dr. Frank J. Veith, 10 to 10:30 a.m. Dr. Bruce A. Perler will moderate. 

E. Stanley Crawford Critical Issues Forum, 10:30 a.m. to noon. The topic is "In Search of Clarity: SFA-Popliteal Interventions for Claudication." Dr. Ronald M. Fairman will moderate the session.

Roy Greenberg Lecture, by Dr. Timothy A. Resch, from 3 to 3:30 p.m. He will discuss "Aortic Disease: The Quest to Improve Patient Outcomes."

Friday, June 10

Presidential Address, "We Care," by President Bruce A. Perler, 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. President-Elect Ronald M. Fairman will introduce Dr. Perler.

VAM 2023: Apply for international scholars program by Dec. 31

Young vascular surgeons from outside the United States and Canada have until Dec. 31 to apply for scholarships to attend the 2023 Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM).

VAM will be held June 14–17, 2023, in National Harbor, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C. 

Working with a mentor, recipients—who cannot be older than 40 in the year they submit their application—will not only attend VAM but also will visit clinical, teaching and research programs before or after the meeting. 

Recipients will receive free VAM registration plus a $5,000 stipend to defray travel.

Prepare to submit research for VAM, VRIC 2023

Members are still raving about the 2022 Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM) even while organizers seek topics for educational sessions for the 2023 edition. Proposals are due at 3 p.m. Central Time on Wednesday, Aug. 24.
