The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) and the Society for Vascular Nursing (SVN) join healthcare organizations nationwide in celebrating National Nurse Practitioner Week (Nov. 10-16) to highlight the contributions of nurse practitioners (NPs) to patient care, including their vital role in vascular health.
NPs bring a unique blend of clinical expertise, compassion and innovation to healthcare settings, ranging from hospitals and clinics to community health centers, said Ali Moran Baird, DNP, AGACNP, RN, president-elect of SVN, speaking on the dedication of NPs. In vascular care, NPs are integral to patient management, offering education, monitoring chronic conditions and supporting complex procedures.
“As an Advanced Practice Provider, I’m proud to celebrate the devotion and knowledge that nurse practitioners offer to all aspects of patient care every day. Nurse practitioners continue transforming the healthcare system, including hospitals, clinics, community centers, nursing schools and clinical policies. Thank you to all nurse practitioners who continue to advocate for all patients and inspire those around them!,” said Moran.
Established in 1982, SVN serves as a professional community for vascular nurses, nurse practitioners and other healthcare professionals specializing in vascular care. Through education, advocacy and professional development, SVN supports its members in advancing vascular health and improving patient outcomes.
SVS and SVN encourage members to take time during National NP Week to recognize the critical role NPs play in shaping the future of healthcare.
