The incoming Editors of the Journal of Vascular Surgery publications offer our sincere thanks to Dr. Peter Gloviczki and Dr. Peter Lawrence for their steadfast leadership of the journals over the last six years. Their tenure at the helm of our specialty’s flagship journals was marked by excellence, growth and innovation. The addition of a fourth journal, JVS – Vascular Science, under their leadership led to a more complete offering of publishing within Vascular Surgery that more fully meets the needs of the spectrum of the vascular care community, regardless of type and location of practice. The journals embraced open access publishing and innovative ways of reaching its audience, including initiatives in social media, online journal clubs, an internship program, and the Audible Bleeding podcast. Most importantly, Drs. Gloviczki and Lawrence led the diversification of the journal’s editorial leadership and editorial board to better reflect the diversity of vascular surgeons and our patients. As stewards of the journal, they certainly left their mark and we are honored to be handed the torch from them. Please join us in offering our sincere thanks and gratitude.
