Vantage point: The SET coach's perspective

The first-line therapy to prevent surgical interventions and delay PAD’s progression is to attend an in-person education and exercise program, known as Supervised Exercise Therapy (SET), consisting of walking three times per week for up to 60 minutes for at least 12 weeks.

With SVS SET, physicians can prescribe and patients can complete this highly effective therapy from their home, which also provides live health coaches and education on behavioral risk factors such as smoking, nutrition, and exercise.

SVS SET features:

  • Physician prescribed 12-week home-based program
    Chat with explanation of SET
  • Educational Content
  • Exercise Scheduling and Recording
  • Patient Reported Outcomes Collection
  • Coaching
  • Provider Dashboard
  • Delivery on any mobile device

Under the leadership of the SVS Health Information Technology Task Force, the SVS SET app was developed in partnership with Cell-Ed, a mobile-first learning company based in Palo Alto, California. Cell-Ed’s science-based learning teaches essential life and job skills more effectively by delivering engaging micro-lessons, coaching, and certificates on any mobile device.
