Quality Improvement (QI) Consulting Program

We are excited to announce the SVS Quality Improvement (QI) Consulting Program, through the Quality Improvement Committee (QIC).

This free member benefit provides guidance to SVS members performing quality improvement activities at all stages — from getting started, to troubleshooting challenges, to sharing project outcomes. Our goal is to provide expert feedback and support as you navigate the changing healthcare environment and regulatory requirements.

Examples of Eligible QI Projects

  • Getting Started: Developing a problem statement (SMART goal); identifying stakeholders; identifying measures; or developing a project chart
  • Tackling Project Management: Choosing a particular QI methodology; organizing a timeline; or developing a communication plan
  • Defining Success: Establishing process measures; tracking the effectiveness of your intervention; displaying data for your team; or identifying when progress has stalled or a new problem is occurring
  • Troubleshooting Problems: Managing change; or reevaluating when your intervention didn't work but improvement is still needed
  • Amplifying Your Success: Creating a dissemination plan; or preparing for a presentation or publication

Projects That Fall Outside of This Program

Our QI project consultants do not provide:

  • Data analysis
  • Complete project mentorship
  • Formal QI instruction or curriculum development (e.g. specific instruction)

How to Request a Consultant

If you are interested, please complete the QI Consulting Program Application. Applications will be evaluated by the QIC, and a consultant will be assigned.

We will accept applications during the first two weeks of each month, with up to five applications selected at a time. Remaining applications may be wait-listed.
