September is PAD Awareness Month, and the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) has plenty of resources for its members.

And just now getting started is a pilot program for an SVS app for surgeons to use with their PAD patients undergoing Supervised Exercise Therapy (SET), a firstline therapy, carried out in hospitals and clinics with physicians “immediately available,” said SVS member Oliver Aalami, MD.

The app—which must be prescribed by physicians—is launching with 50 patients from across the United States, with a national launch planned for the last quarter of this year. Users will receive health education, exercise assessment, goal-setting and coaching. Read more about the app, introduced during the SVS virtual meeting this summer, at vsweb.org/SVSSET.

Meanwhile, invoices for 2021 dues will be emailed to all SVS members on or about Oct. 1. Payment is due by Dec. 31 to maintain SVS membership and benefits.
