MIPS Value Pathway (MVP)

The MVP Advantage: Streamlined Quality Reporting for Vascular Surgeons

Read the MVP

In the 2026 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule Final Rule, the Vascular Surgery MIPS Value Pathway (MVP) has been approved for the 2026 Performance Year. This initiative aligns vascular surgery practices with Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) payment policies as they evolve, reducing reporting burden and improving relevance to clinical care.

The MVP is a streamlined option for reporting your MIPS (Merit-based Incentive Payment System) requirements. MVPs align quality reporting with clinical specialties to reduce the reporting burden and improve relevance to clinical care. It includes vascular-specific measures across all MIPS reporting categories—making it relevant and meaningful for vascular surgeons.

This new vascular surgery MVP was designed specifically for our specialty by the SVS Quality and Performance Measures Committee (QPMC). MVPs will reduce the reporting burden on practices and enable better comparisons within the specialty.

Registration

The MVP will be available for practices to register for between April 1 and November 30 of the applicable calendar year performance period.

Clinicians who practice in the following specialties may want to consider registering for this MVP:

  • Vascular Surgery
  • NPPs such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants
