Vascular Leadership Council

The Vascular Leadership Council (VLC) is a strategic advisory body that brings together leaders from regional, national, and other vascular societies and boards to advocate for, and advance, vascular surgery as a specialty.

Chaired by the SVS President-Elect, the Council identifies and discusses emerging trends, challenges and opportunities impacting vascular surgeons and their practice environments. Through collaboration and the exchange of perspectives, the VLC helps foster unity across the specialty, strengthen relationships among vascular organizations, and support long range planning for the future of vascular surgery.

Representatives are selected by their respective societies and boards, ensuring broad participation and engagement from across the vascular community. The Council serves as a mechanism for specialty-wide collaboration, helping to advance shared priorities and promote the continued growth and development of vascular surgery.

The VLC typically meets in Washington DC and is often combined with advocacy Hill Visits to Congress to advocate for vascular surgery, vascular surgeons and vascular patient care.
