SVS Foundation

A New Mission – Continued Support for Vascular Research Awards and Activities

The SVS Foundation has been dedicated for many years to supporting young surgeon scientists through research awards and scholarships. This past year, the Foundation Board of Directors broadened our mission to address the vascular health and wellness of our patients which is consistent with what vascular surgeons do every day to optimize the delivery of high-quality patient care.

The SVS Foundation’s new mission is: To optimize the vascular health and well-being of patients and the public through support of research that leads to discovery of knowledge and innovative strategies, as well as education and programs, to prevent and treat circulatory disease.

Dr. Ron Fairman, Chairman of the SVS Foundation Board stated, “The Foundation’s efforts and commitment are aligned with our broadened mission - Vascular surgeons will lead in the discovery and delivery of the highest quality and most accessible healthcare to reduce the complications of circulatory disease.

To support these programs, the Foundation will seek funding from private and corporate foundations and other entities.
