SVS Foundation Recognizes UAB as June VIP of the Month

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) Division of Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Therapy was named the Vascular Innovation Partner (VIP) of the Month for June 2024 by the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Foundation. This recognition is part of the SVS Foundation's initiative to highlight leading institutions making significant contributions to vascular health and surgery advancements.

"We joined the SVS Foundation VIP Program as a Founding Member to further align with its mission of pioneering advanced procedures for the full spectrum of vascular disorders and training the next generation of vascular surgeons," said a UAB representative. "With expertise spanning from advanced endovascular procedures to limb salvage techniques, UAB is committed to advancing vascular health through research, education and clinical excellence."

The UAB Division of Vascular and Endovascular Therapy offers comprehensive treatment for various vascular disorders. Its surgeons are skilled in all modern endovascular procedures, including the treatment of thoracoabdominal aneurysms with personalized branched and fenestrated endografts and minimally invasive techniques for limb salvage and amputation prevention.

UAB's outpatient Vein Clinic provides thorough evaluations and specialized treatments for vein disorders. The faculty at UAB are involved in clinical, basic and outcomes research aimed at advancing the field of vascular surgery and improving patient outcomes. The division also boasts comprehensive training programs, including an integrated vascular residency and a two-year vascular fellowship, designed to prepare the next generation of vascular surgeons.
