The MedStar Health Vascular Surgery and Endovascular Program was elected the Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Foundation's Vascular Innovation Partner (VIP) of the Month in August.
The VIP program acknowledges institutional partners whose values resonate with its mission to optimize vascular health and well-being, which includes supporting research that leads to discoveries, implementing innovative strategies and promoting education. This honor is a part of the Foundation's initiative to highlight institutions making significant contributions to vascular health and surgical advancements.
“The MedStar Health Vascular Surgery Program is committed to providing the highest quality care to our patients, ensuring each individual receives compassionate, individualized treatment. As a Founding Member of the VIP Program, we look forward to making significant strides in vascular health and continuing to serve our community with the most advanced and evidence-based care plans,” said Steven Abramowitz, MD, Chair and Physician Executive Director of Vascular Surgery for MedStar Health. “We believe that supporting the SVS Foundation’s research initiatives will lead to better outcomes for our patients and help shape the future of vascular surgery.”
The MedStar Health Vascular Surgery Program is renowned as a trusted resource for diagnosing and managing all vascular pathologies, ranging from the most common to the most complex. It is the largest program in the mid-Atlantic region, with 23 board-certified surgeons operating across 11 hospitals and 20 outpatient sites. The program ensures that each patient receives individualized, compassionate care with access to cutting-edge technologies and advanced clinical trials.
The program emphasizes a well-rounded approach to care, working with patients' primary care physicians and other MedStar Health network specialists. Additionally, MedStar Health consistently works with advanced technology and procedures, collaborating on numerous clinical trials and training future surgeons through fellowship and residency programs.
Throughout 2024, the SVS Foundation will highlight a VIP partner each month to recognize their contributions to vascular health. For more information about the VIP program, visit vascular.org/VIP.
