The Society for Vascular Surgery (SVS) Foundation announced Boston Scientific as the Presenting Sponsor for its flagship awareness campaign, "Voices of Vascular," throughout 2024. This collaboration signifies a significant stride in promoting vascular health awareness and research support, organizers said.
The company's online portfolio addresses unmet patient needs and strives to reduce the overall cost of healthcare. Their range of devices and therapies spans cardiovascular, respiratory, digestive, oncological, neurological and urological domains. The Boston Scientific website states that the company prioritizes advancing science for life and adopts a personalized approach to better understand barriers to healthcare access.
"We are passionate about advancing access to science and enabling physicians to take a personalized approach to better understand the barriers and determine the appropriate care for each patient,” said Michael R, Jaff, MD, chief medical officer, Peripheral Interventions, Boston Scientific and a vascular medicine specialist.
Jaff further highlighted the issue of access to care, noting that it is a significant problem, especially for underrepresented minorities in clinical trials
"Access to care is a huge problem within underrepresented minority groups and we must be mindful that there is no ‘one size fits all’ solution when it comes to patient care. Our clinical trials, including ELEGANCE, put an emphasis on committing to and accelerating diverse patient enrollment, and we’re committed to continued advancements in this area to help address the unique needs of these important patient populations,” Jaff added.
