Call for Proposals and Abstracts Overview
Education Sessions
The VAM Education Sessions occur in programs of varying sizes, taking formats such as small group interactive lectures, case-based courses, hands-on, and innovative/non-didactic approaches.
Education Sessions
- Topics: Clinical and Non-Clinical
- Formats: Interactive, case-based, didactic and hands-on
- Concurrent sessions held at breakfast and in the afternoons on Wed, Thr, and Fri.
- Who Can Submit: Open to all individuals and groups; SVS committees/volunteer groups may submit multiple proposals
- Note: SVS Sections Sessions and Resident and Student Session programs do not need to officially submit for their existing timeslot; please work directly with your SVS staff liaisons. If the Section or RSOC programming wishes to have additional time, please submit another proposal.
- Total number of sessions within VAM: 18-22

- Topics: Hot topics in Clinical and Non-Clinical
- Format: Individual lectures that will be created into one session
- Who Can Submit: Open to all individuals and groups; SVS committees/volunteer groups may submit multiple proposals

Abstracts are intended primarily for the presentation of scientific research in various topic areas.

- Formats: Rapid Pace or Full-length
- Full Manuscript must be submitted to JVS

SVS-VESS Scientific Sessions
- Topics: Clinical, Non-Clinical Science and Research
- Who Can Submit: The submitting author or one of the co-authors of each abstract must be a member of VESS

International Plenary Session and International Young
Surgeons Competition

- Poster Competition and International Poster Competition will have an official competition time; winners move on to the Poster Championship.

There are annually three invited/named sessions that occur during the VAM. They include:
