Health & Safety Protocols

The health and safety of meeting attendees is SVS’s top priority. We are committed to providing a safe, secure, and comfortable environment in which attendees can connect with their peers and discuss the latest innovation, research, and educational content. SVS will be implementing the below policies and mitigation measures for VAM22, which may be subject to change.

Masks are not required at VAM22 and will be optional. Please respect those that choose to wear a mask. Extra masks will be available at registration should you desire one.

The following protocols apply to all attendees of VAM22, including staff, members, nonmembers, exhibitors, sponsors and guests.

  • Attendees of VAM22 must be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations (according to the CDC guidelines that were updated on April 2, 2022).
    • For U.S. citizens, having received their COVID-19 primary series vaccine and, if eligible, (at least) one booster. The vaccine must have been authorized or approved by the FDA.
    • For international guests, a vaccine approved by the World Health Organization.
  • All unvaccinated attendees, or those that are unable to provide proof of vaccination must provide a negative COVID-19 test that was administered within 72 hours of arrival.
    • Please note, at-home COVID-19 tests will not be accepted on-site. All
      negative tests must be verifiable.
  • If an attendee becomes ill or is informed that they have been exposed to COVID-19 while at the meeting they are asked to self-isolate until they can provide a verified negative COVID-19 test.
  • Should an attendee find themselves in a situation where they need to be tested, they should proceed to a COVID-19 testing site within walking distance of the Hynes Convention Center to receive a verified test. See below for a list of locations.
  • Should an attendee test positive for COVID-19 while onsite, they are asked to contact Tara Spiess at tspiess@vascularsociety.org and provide a list of sessions they attended prior to receiving the positive test.
    • The identity of anyone who tests positive for COVID-19 onsite will be kept confidential.
    • All VAM22 attendees will be made aware of the positive test and what sessions were attended by the individual. This will allow attendees to monitor their own health and take any necessary actions in order to keep themselves and others safe and healthy.

The SVS asks that attendees practice social distancing where possible onsite. Current information regarding COVID in Massachusetts is available here.

If you have questions regarding the above protocols, please reach out to svsmeetings@vascularsociety.org.
