VAM21 Meeting Dates

The site of VAM21 is the San Diego Convention Center located in San Diego, California, USA. All SVS official hotels are conveniently located 10 minutes from the San Diego International Airport.
The Vascular Annual Meeting is open to all vascular health professionals. All guests are invited to attend the exhibit hall activities in addition to the social events. All guests must purchase a badge through on-site registration. Children under 21 are not permitted in the exhibit hall.
The VAM21 abstract submission site will open in November 2020.
SVS Welcomes the Society for Vascular Ultrasound to VAM21
SVU will hold its annual meeting on Thursday and Friday, June 3 and 4, and participate in VAM events on Wednesday and Saturday.
The presence of SVU at VAM expands upon past practice, said SVS President Dr. Ronald Dalman. “We have a longtime partnership and have held our meetings together in the past,” he said. “We traditionally offer joint programming at each other’s meetings. We’re taking the collaboration to the next level.”
“We’re excited at the prospect of meeting together in San Diego next year,” said SVU President Kelly Burns. “We are all members of the vascular team and members of both groups will be able to benefit and learn from each other and from our industry partners.”
Registration and Housing Opens Early March
Vascular Annual Meeting registration services will be provided by CompuSystems (CSI) and MCI USA will provide housing services.
Accept no substitutes! Please be aware that there are companies out there that claim to provide housing and registration services for the Vascular Annual Meeting that are not affiliated with SVS in any way. These companies will send fax notices, e-mail transmissions or phone calls that offer cut-rate housing for the Vascular Annual Meeting. The author's apparent intent is to convince unsuspecting attendees that the offer is made on behalf of SVS. It is not. Everyone loves a bargain. Poaching housing blocks, however, is not about better prices - it is about highly suspect ethics and service.
When SVS secures sleeping rooms at hotels for the Vascular Annual Meeting, it does so in order to assure that our attendees and exhibitors are adequately accommodated. SVS also needs the hotels for meeting space for the numerous committee and industry meetings. This involves contracting the rooms and space with many hotels, but doing so exposes us to cancellation and attrition policies. Please support SVS' efforts to thwart the efforts of room block poachers by making housing arrangements through MCI USA.
The average temperature for San Diego in June is a beautiful 70-degree high and a 60-degree low.
The attire for the conference is business casual during the day and resort casual for hospitality events.
Americans With Disabilities Act Accommodations
Registrants who need specialized accommodations to participate in the Vascular Annual Meeting (i.e., large print or Braille materials; assistance obtaining motorized scooter rentals) should check the “Yes” box under Disability Accommodations on the Attendee Meeting Registration Form. Someone from the SVS office will call to discuss how we may assist you.
At this writing, SuperShuttle is scheduled to terminate service from/to the San Diego International Airport at the end of 2020. Attendees are encouraged to use taxi or other transportation services such as Uber or Lyft.
Taxi service is also available from the airport to the downtown hotels. Approximate fare is $25*, exclusive of gratuity.
On-site private vehicle parking is available at the San Diego Convention Center's 1,950-vehicle underground garage located below the building. Enter the parking garage on Harbor Drive between First Ave. and Fifth Ave.
- The daily rate is $15* per vehicle per day for Convention Center events but may raise to $35* on days when there is an event at PETCO Park.
- Payment is due upon entry and there are no in and out privileges.
- No overnight or RV parking is permitted.
- Rates are subject to change.
Parking in Downtown San Diego
Directly across the street from the Convention Center, on the corner of Harbor and 8th Avenue, is a 2,000-space parking structure.
Off-site parking is available at numerous nearby parking lots and garages in Downtown San Diego, many are within walking distance of the Center. Lots and garages are individually owned and operated, prices vary by location.

Alumni and Committee Receptions
SVS is pleased to reserve the evening hours of Thursday, June 3, 2021 for alumni, committee and group receptions. All receptions will take place at the Marriott Marquis San Diego Marina.
The reception arrangements enable attendees who may be members of more than one alumni association or group to frequent multiple receptions. SVS requests that receptions begin after 7:00 pm so as not to conflict with the SVS Opening Reception, also scheduled on Thursday evening.
Please complete the alumni meeting space request form and email it to SVS. Upon receipt of the request, a space release confirmation letter will be generated to the hotel with a copy to the reception organizer. From that point forward, the organizer will work directly with the hotel contact on the balance of the arrangements.
There is no rental charge to secure a meeting room. However, all additional costs associated with alumni reception events are the responsibility of the host organization.
