SVS PAC Reception Planned for 2016 VAM

Become a Capitol Club contributor to the Society for Vascular Surgery’s Political Action Committee and meet with members of Congress during the 2016 Vascular Annual Meeting in June.

The 2016 VAM will be held just outside Washington, D.C., the perfect choice for a special SVS PAC reception. The event will be held on Capitol Hill and is scheduled for 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 8, in 2261 Rayburn House Office Building. Transportation will be provided to and from the reception.

Many members of Congress will be invited, including Rep. Phil Roe, M.D., R-Tenn., chair of the House Doctors’ Caucus, and all the members of this Caucus along with members of the House Energy and Commerce and Ways and Means Health subcommittees. These Congressional members were instrumental for three major victories in 2015:

Repeal of the Sustainable Growth Rate formula that determined Medicare physician reimbursement

Reform of the Medicare physician payment system

Preventing the elimination of the 10- and 90-day global surgical packages

This will be your opportunity to thank them for their support of issues that are very important to your profession and patients.

The reception is open only to Capitol Club contributors, those SVS members who have contributed $1,000 or more since the beginning of 2015. Those who pledge $1,000 in 2016 with monthly or quarterly contributions also will be invited.

Along with the invitation, Capitol Club members will receive a gold pin, be recognized at the PAC booth during VAM and be listed in the 2015 PAC Annual Report and on the SVS website.

VAM will be held June 8 to 11 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, Md., outside Washington, D.C. Plenary and exhibits are open June 9 to 11. Register today.
