Call for SVS Committee Volunteers

Dear SVS member -

The engine that drives progress in SVS is its committees, and the engine that drives SVS committees, is its dedicated and talented members. By volunteering and serving on an SVS committee you will contribute to achieving the vision of SVS and its top strategic priorities.

On a professional and personal level you will establish new and strong networks with colleagues, learn new information and acquire new skill sets, all of which will help advance your career. Membership is the lifeblood of SVS and serving on a committee is an excellent way for members to stay engaged and grow. If you are interested in serving on an SVS committee, please visit the following link:

Complete Brief Application by Monday, April 10

After you have completed the application you will receive a follow up email to complete a brief conflict of interest disclosure. Please note that relationships with industry do not disqualify one from committee service, but it is a requirement that they be fully disclosed.

Applications will not be considered complete, and applicants will not be considered for appointments to a committee, unless both surveys are completed.

Appointments will be announced in late May.

The Appointments Committee, comprised of the President, President-Elect and Vice President, strives for well-balanced committees with representatives from all practice types, geographic regions and career stage. Regrettably, not all applicants can be appointed to committees as there are always many more applicants than open positions. If you do not receive an appointment this year please do not be discouraged, and try again. Also, reach out to SVS for other ways to become engaged.

On behalf of the SVS Executive Committee, thank you for all you are doing on behalf of your patients and SVS.

Yours truly,

Dr. R. Clement Darling III
President-Elect
