As the largest vascular surgery scientific meeting in the western region, the event features original research and studies from our expert membership. Our accepted abstracts have one of the highest rates of publication in the Journal of Vascular Surgery. In addition to the podium presentations this year, we will offer an afternoon CME session, as well as a unique ePoster presentation to allow for maximum participation.
We invite you to join us as vascular surgeons in a program dedicated to the advancement of our profession. Our scientific program represents an outstanding education opportunity and the best-in-class meeting location will foster member interaction and collaboration - truly the hallmarks of the WVS.
The meeting will begin on Saturday, September 22, 2018 with the Welcome Reception at 6:00 p.m. where we will offer digital ePoster presentations.
Plenary sessions will continue on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. Due to popular demand, we plan to include Mock Oral Board Prep sessions again this year.
Continuing the tradition for residents to compete, there will be a chance to win the Robert Hye Resident Award for best presentation.
New this year we will introduce our first companion program for the spouses that will include networking breakfast with a presentation about the Turquoise Trail on Sunday morning followed by a cooking demonstration at the Santa Fe Cooking School. Golf tournament is being planned by the Local Arrangements Chair Dr. Langsfeld for Monday afternoon. Optional activities will include group hot air balloon rides, and a museum walking tour. Casual attire is encouraged this year for both social activities and scientific sessions in keeping with our fresh philosophy that people learn more when they are comfortably free from ties and pretense.
Eldorado – the fabled “City of Gold” – tempted countless explorers and adventures to seek the riches they believed it beheld. This spirit of discovery lives on at Eldorado Hotel & Spa, where new treasures await. Enjoy the local treasures program that affords you 15% off local shops, restaurants and attractions.
Updated meeting rooms and guest rooms with fireplaces make this four-diamond property a great place to host the 33rd Western Vascular Society Annual Meeting. As part of the tradition of cultural preservation and support, The Eldorado Hotel donates a portion of every room night’s revenue to the Spanish Colonial Arts Society. This registered non-profit organization is on a mission to collect, preserve and display Spanish Colonial art of New Mexico and more, as well as educate the public about its related cultures and living traditions. Writer Mary Austin and artist/writer Frank G. Applegate founded the Spanish Colonial Arts Society (SCAS) in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 1925.
Close to shopping, restaurants, museums and historic areas it offers our members all the amenities. Western Vascular Society Room Rate: $209 is valid until August 22 but rooms are limited.
