VQI@VAM - VQI's First Annual Meeting
The Vascular Quality Initiative (VQI) is pleased to announce that it will hold its First Annual Meeting on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, one day prior to the official start of the 2016 Vascular Annual Meeting (VAM) at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center, National Harbor, MD (just outside of Washington, DC).
VQI@VAM will offer a full day of educational content geared toward helping attendees gain a better understanding of the VQI registries and quality improvement skills necessary to leverage the maximum potential of the VQI data to improve vascular care.
The morning sessions of VQI@VAM will focus on topics of particular interest to data managers. These will include vascular anatomy, a review of complex data definitions, detailed examples of case abstraction and producing and interpreting reports. Lunch will feature a keynote presentation from a nationally recognized leader in Health Care Quality Improvement, who will address the opportunities and challenges of using registry data for quality improvement. The afternoon sessions will highlight content of interest to vascular surgeons, clinicians, data managers and QI personnel. Case studies of successful VQI quality improvement projects will be presented by VQI centers, along with practical training on the quality Improvement techniques used.
“The intent of VQI@VAM is to bring the physicians, quality officers and data managers together in a team environment where they can learn more about the use of VQI data to promote quality improvement, with practical tools that can be used in their own health system.” says Dr. Jack Cronenwett, VQI’s Medical Director.
Registration is still open. Registration is required for this event and a separate registration fee of $100 will apply. Please note that you are not required to register for any other VAM sessions as a prerequisite to attend the VQI Annual Meeting.
We are excited to hold a national forum to showcase some of the successes of VQI members and to provide an educational program for quality improvement by VQI members. We are also honored to be holding our VQI meeting in conjunction with VAM. If you have any questions about the VQI Annual Meeting, please contact Jim Wadzinski, firstname.lastname@example.org. We hope to see you there in June.
