About

In 2017, SVS implemented membership sections to provide a forum for the discussion of education, research, and practice issues in their respective areas of vascular focus or special interest. The primary focus of these sections is to increase educational offerings for this sector of the membership and/or the membership-at-large.

Current SVS Sections

SVS Physician Assistant (PA) Section

In 2017, the SVS created a new membership section for vascular physician assistants. The section provides a "professional home" to PAs working in vascular care settings. The Section has more than 200 members and continues to grow. 

Sub-Section on Outpatient & Office Vascular Care (SOOVC)

In 2018, the SVS created a new membership section for clinicians who work in outpatient and office vascular care centers. The Section’s mission is to establish a forum where members can work to advance the care of patients with vascular disease in outpatient settings by enhancing SVS efforts in education, advocacy, quality practice, ethics and research. The section has more than 150 members.

SVS Community Practice Section (SVSCPS)

In 2021, the SVS created a new membership section for clinicians who work in the community. The Section’s mission is to establish an engaging and interactive forum for SVS members practicing primarily in a community setting. The Section will achieve this mission by enhancing SVS efforts in education, advocacy, quality practice, ethics, research, and member value, with specific focus and attention to the needs of members delivering vascular care in the community setting.

Call for Volunteers: SVS PA Section Executive Committee

The SVS Physician Assistant Section is seeking volunteers for its Executive Committee, which is a working committee. Call for Volunteers: SVS SOOVC Executive Committee

Deadline: Tuesday, November 30, 2021

The Sub-Section on Outpatient and Office Vascular Care (SOOVC) is seeking four volunteers for its Executive Committee (EC). This EC consists of nine members and is a working committee. To be considered for the committee, please complete an online application, which includes a brief statement regarding your interest and experience in OBLs. Applications are due by Tuesday, November 30, 2021. Please submit CVs to soovc@vascularsociety.org

Call for Volunteers: SOOVC Research Work Group

Deadline: Tuesday, November 30, 2021

The SVS is seeking volunteers for the SOOVC Research Work Group. The group's focus is to develop policy related to OBL research; foster the development, implementation, and presentation of research related to outpatient vascular care; and review gaps in the literature, develop research questions, and select research topics. 

In this application, you will have the opportunity to highlight your experiences which would be a benefit to this committee. Please summarize your professional history as it relates to medical research and OBLs. Please email your CV to soovc@vascularsociety.org. Final candidates may be required to submit additional information for the SVS Leadership to select committee members.
